The World Darts Championship 2026/27 returns to Alexandra Palace for more than three weeks of knockout darts, bringing 128 players to London in pursuit of the Sid Waddell Trophy.

This year also begins a new chapter for the tournament. From December 2026, the championship moves from the West Hall into Alexandra Palace’s larger Great Hall, increasing capacity to more than 5,000 spectators per session and allowing around 180,000 fans to attend across the tournament. Fans looking to explore more events across the sport can also discover MA Hospitality Group’s darts tickets and hospitality options for selected tournaments and sessions.

World Darts Championship 2026/27 Schedule

The tournament begins on 11 December 2026 and concludes with the final on 3 January 2027. The complete session-by-session schedule and draw will be added once the remaining qualification places have been decided.

Players to Watch at the World Darts Championship

The final World Darts Championship 2026/27 player field is still taking shape, but several of the biggest names in the sport are already likely to dominate attention.

Luke Littler sits at No.1 on the current PDC player list and enters the season as World Champion, making him one of the headline names surrounding another Ally Pally campaign. Close behind is Luke Humphries, the 2023/24 World Champion and one of Littler’s most prominent modern rivals.

Dutch star Gian van Veen has risen to No.3, while three-time World Champion Michael van Gerwen remains one of the sport’s most recognisable players. Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting and Josh Rock also sit among the leading names on the current PDC player list, alongside experienced stars including Jonny Clayton, James Wade and Gary Anderson.

The complete entry list and first-round matchups will become clearer once qualification is complete.
