El Clásico 2026/27: Two matches that could define Real Madrid’s season
Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet twice during the 2026/27 LaLiga season. The first El Clásico is scheduled for Matchday 10, when Real Madrid travel to face Barcelona on 25 October 2026. The return fixture will take place at the Bernabéu on Matchday 35, provisionally dated 9 May 2027.
| Matchday | Scheduled date | Fixture |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | 25 October 2026 Date and time to be confirmed. | Barcelona vs Real Madrid First El Clásico |
| 35 | 9 May 2027 Date and time to be confirmed. | Real Madrid vs Barcelona Bernabéu showdown |
The first meeting follows consecutive home fixtures against Villarreal and Sevilla, creating one of the most important periods in Real Madrid’s early-season calendar. The return El Clásico could carry even greater significance because it falls during the final four rounds of the title race.
After facing Barcelona at the Bernabéu, Real Madrid will have only three league matches remaining. They will host Racing Santander, travel to Alavés, and finish the campaign at home against Deportivo La Coruña.

Real Madrid stars to watch after the 2026 World Cup
Kylian Mbappé will enter the new season after winning the 2026 World Cup Golden Boot. The Real Madrid forward scored 10 goals for France, while Jude Bellingham helped England finish third after producing decisive braces against Mexico and Norway. Bellingham also scored in England’s victory over France in the third-place play-off.
Real Madrid will also begin the season with a newly crowned world champion. Summer signing Marc Cucurella played every minute of Spain’s campaign, including the 1-0 final victory over Argentina, and will enter his first season at the Bernabéu as a World Cup winner.
Vinícius Júnior scored four times during Brazil’s group-stage campaign, while Arda Güler also found the net during the tournament. Their performances added to the attacking depth surrounding Mbappé and Bellingham as Real Madrid prepare for another demanding domestic season.
