Vienna Philharmonic

November 1, 2026 – June 22, 2027 | Japan, Europe & North America

The audience settles, the conductor takes the podium, and the first notes fill the hall. Moments like these make Vienna Philharmonic concerts a memorable centrepiece for a cultural getaway, whether you are discovering a new destination or returning to a favourite city.

Also known as the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra offers opportunities to enjoy that experience in Vienna and beyond. Its 2026–2027 calendar includes performances at Vienna’s Musikverein, appearances in Japan, and concerts in New York, Berkeley, and Costa Mesa.

Vienna Philharmonic tickets and premium concert experiences

Choosing your concert and seating

The right concert begins with the programme. Choose a favourite composer, a particular conductor, or the opportunity to hear a soloist whose recordings you have enjoyed for years, then narrow your options by destination and travel dates.

When comparing Vienna Philharmonic tickets, note that the subscription series has a long waiting list, while many other concerts are ticketed through their presenters. Wiener Philharmoniker tickets refer to the same orchestra under its German name.

Before booking, confirm the ensemble, date, hall, and seating category. Share your preferred view, whether you need seats together, and any accessibility requirements when enquiring.

Gala evenings and event-specific hospitality

Some performances offer more than a concert seat. Cal Performances’ Gala in Berkeley on 4 March 2027 combines the Vienna Philharmonic’s performance with a cocktail reception, prime or premium seating depending on the selected package, a gala dinner, and valet parking.

This creates an opportunity to make the concert part of a fuller evening, whether you are celebrating an occasion or attending with guests who share your interest in music.

Gala arrangements must be booked through an applicable package; a standard concert ticket should not be assumed to include the reception or dinner.

From Vienna’s Golden Hall to international concert stages

Hear the orchestra at the Musikverein

The Musikverein’s Golden Hall features prominently in the orchestra’s Vienna calendar, alongside performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus. These give visitors several opportunities to build a stay around the music rather than relying exclusively on the New Year’s Concert.

Imagine arriving with time to enjoy the setting, taking your seat without rushing, and giving the performance your full attention. Dinner afterwards can become an opportunity to revisit a favourite passage or discuss a piece you have heard for the first time.

You do not need an extensive knowledge of classical music to enjoy the occasion. Start with a programme that interests you, read a little about the works beforehand, and leave room to discover something unexpected.

Different programmes, different reasons to attend

Consecutive concerts do not necessarily mean repeated programmes. The orchestra’s 2–4 March 2027 Berkeley residency, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, offers three distinct evenings. The first features Mahler’s Ninth Symphony; the second pairs Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto, with Yuja Wang, with Mahler’s Fourth Symphony; and the final performance presents Mahler’s Second Symphony, Resurrection, with vocal soloists and chorus.

That variety changes how you might plan your visit. One programme may be enough for a memorable evening, while attending more than one allows you to hear the orchestra in different musical settings.
